Terms of service

1. The service

Delisted is testing ways to ask companies to delete your details or stop using them. We check each company's instructions before contacting it for you, and review replies before taking the next step. See which companies we can help with in our company list. The service is free and supported by donations. We do not guarantee that any company will remove your information.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 and use the service only for yourself.
• The information you provide must be accurate and about you.
• One account per person. Sign-in links go to your email, so you are responsible for keeping that inbox secure.

3. Joining and invitations

We have 50 places for people joining without an invitation. After those places are used, new members need an invitation; people without one join the waitlist. Every active member who has confirmed their email gets two invitations, including members who joined by invitation. You may still need to wait if we are full, even with an invitation. Once someone accepts an invitation, it cannot be used again. Donating does not replace an invitation. See joining and invites.

4. Your permission

You sign a separate form giving us permission to contact companies for you. You can take back that permission by deleting your account.

Every admitted member can choose to take part in early removal tests in Settings. This is optional and starts turned off. Signing the permission form alone does not sign you up for tests. We have checked the company's instructions, but have not yet shown that our requests work. We share only the details you approve for a request, alongside your name and country and state or region. The company may have no record of you. It may ask you to confirm an email or prove your identity yourself. We do not send government ID for you. A sent request or a reply saying it was received does not prove that data was held or deleted. Removal is not guaranteed. Turn off early tests in Settings to stop new test requests; requests already sent cannot be recalled.

5. Acceptable use

Don't submit someone else's information, attempt to disrupt the service, or use it to harass brokers or anyone else. We may suspend accounts that do.

6. Donations

Donations are voluntary, non-refundable except where required by law, and not tax deductible. Donation amounts are never shown publicly with your name.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the actions of data brokers.

8. Changes

We'll notify you by email before material changes to these terms take effect.
